During the Martin County Fair, SPAM was in charge of the STEM building and helped out with other booths. We also held our own booth where we gave out information about FLL and FRC in an attempt to spread awareness about FIRST and STEM.
At the Stuart Air Show S.P.A.M. helps by volunteering for some of the waste management and anything that anyone may need with their booths. We also held out own booth. There we shared the message of FIRST and taught families about the importance of FIRST and what it stands for.
S.P.A.M. works to get Martin County a FIRST robotics area. We believe that if we help volunteer and coach FLL ad FTC teams then more students would consider moving up to FRC. So we coach teams and send our amazing team members to events to support the growth of these young robotics students.
Camp In A Box, a summer camp curriculum that serves the dual purpose of providing an effective and sustainable fundraiser to help other teams reap the benefits of hosting a summer camp while also creating an outreach program to raise awareness and appreciation of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). This was shared around the world and piloted in India, The Philippines, Colombia, Brazil, and Honduras.
Safety is our number one priority at S.P.A.M. We believe that having our entire team understand the risks and how to avoid allows us to keep surrounding teams safer and keep our team from ever getting harmed.
Demos are our way of showing how cool robots are to people who may have never seen what FRC and FIRST. Through demos, we raise money for our team and are able to spread the word of FIRST and share information on how to join a team in FLL, FTC, and FRC.
